...And a new profitable business! 💰

I spent the last 3 years working at a venture studio, where we ideate, test and launch various businesses in cooperation with large corporates.

This means I've been in a fortunate position of being able to experiment with various types of business ideas and models of making money.

How Business Models Are Evolving

Here's the thing:

The traditional business models don't change: Sell products. Sell services. Sell access. Sell ideas. Sell IPs.

But the way we put businesses together changes with time. As technology evolves, what we deem valuable (enough to pay for) changes.

Here are a few examples:

1. Information. 🔍
   Costs thousands in the past. Now mostly available for free.
2. Entertainment. 🥳
   Pay-per-play (e.g. movies, newspapers) in the past. Now pay monthly (e.g. Netflix, paid newsletters).
3. Labour.🧑‍💻
   Small hourly pay range (Want to be a dentist? This is what you should expect to get paid.) Now with remote technology, a US resident could technically be seen by a doctor from Kolkata), creating lots of opportunities for labour-arbitrage.

And so on.

In addition, how we stack the business models is also evolving. (We will get to this another time)

When information becomes free, educators have to find a different way to get paid, for example by creating private channels for additional coaching, for charging for help with the implementation of the advice.
